Focus on Your Website Every Day

One of the most untrue beliefs that many people who are new to online sales has is that all they have to do is make a website, throw up some products and watch as the sales roll in. It’s a nice idea. Who wouldn’t want to have hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars coming in every day with virtually no work?  Unfortunately, before you can have sales coming in you must first have visitors coming in. Just because you have a website doesn’t mean anyone is going to see it.

It is important to build your websites online reputation. The more you pull this off the more visitors you will have coming into your website and the more potential sales you will receive. To achieve this you must put some work in every single day to build your reputation.

What to Do on a Daily Basis


Write Content

Content is without a doubt the most sure fire way to bring in more visitors. The more content you provide for the search engines, the more likely they are to send visitors to your website. Every day you should write at least 1 article and post it to your company’s website. If you have time then write more.

Request Links

Links are considered an important aspect in how the search engines rank your websites importance. This is especially true with Google which is without a doubt the most important search engine to rank well with. Every day you should find several sites, 4-10, which relate to your website. You can try competitors if you like but this will not generally meet much success. Instead focus on websites which compliment your own site or may be interested in sending some of their visitors to your site. Send an email to these sites webmaster requesting a link. Most of these will not yield a link but some will and the more you receive the better.

Become an Expert

This doesn’t apply to all websites but if your website sells products or services which people frequently ask questions about on forums then get on some of those forums and begin posting responses. If possible include a link to your website where applicable. Do not, however, spam the forums with pointless messages. This will likely get you banned. Instead provide meaningful and useful answers. This helps to get your website out and it helps to establish you amongst peers as an expert in whatever area your website caters too.

It can be Done

Remember, building an online shop into a successful business can be done. It just won’t happen overnight as some like to proclaim. It takes some work and you should work on it every day.
